Randall's First Field Trip

Randall's pre-school took their first field trip last Thursday. They went to the fire station. It is one of Longview's newest and it was very impressive.

Here he is waiting in line before the tour.

A sweet smile.

There were 3 firemen there and they were all very friendly, kind and patient with the kids. This is the fire chief (I think) and he always had a smile to go along with whatever he was saying. Here, he's showing the boys (Rand's class is all boys) the high-tech kitchen.

Not surprisingly, the boys were more interested in the pantry than anything else. Especially once someone found some peanut M&M's.

Heading outside to see the ambulance.

This fireman was warned of the possibility of spit up... Luckily, he had another shirt in his truck...

Making the rounds...

Trekking through the truck.

The kids got to feel (and hear) how strong the fans are that are used for blowing smoke out of a house.

Listening to the sirens. Randall said it was so loud it hurt his ears. I said that was just because his fingers were in them! :-)

Randall and his friend, Luke.

A quick one of Rand and me.

Getting everyone ready for a group picture.

Cheese! Got it!

Randall's teachers are Mrs. Patty, on the left, and Mrs. Kelli next to her.

Randall really enjoyed the trip, especially riding on the church bus to get to the fire station.

Looks like a blast!!!

And I am SOOOO jealous! You're in short sleeves, shorts, and sandals?!?!

I'm finally considering putting blankets on the horses because it's so cold here!

Did any of the boys want to become firemen?? :)

Well, when they were first asked, Randall said he wanted to be an engineer (Slade is an engineer) and I was so proud. Then he decided he wanted to be a fireman (and so did a few others) until someone else said they wanted to be a race car driver... It was all over from there... Everyone wanted to be race car drivers. :-)

And, yes, the weather here is beautiful! We're enjoying 60s at night and high 70s during the day. But, of course, that's just this week... the weather is unpredictable and we could have a heat wave or snow flurries next week! :-)

Hey, the younger fireman was at our field trip to the Fire Station on Mcann. (by the church) It was my Kindergarten ELO class and they had no clue we were coming! He and his fire buddy did well considering the surprise!
